Ovenlight

Open the web apps you run on your own computers, full screen on your iPhone, over a private connection.

Download on the App Store
The Ovenlight launcher on an iPhone: eight apps, among them Recipe Box, Garden Log, Trip Planner and Book Club, laid out like a Home Screen under the lamp's glow.

Who it's for

Ovenlight is for people who build or run small web apps on their own computers and want them on their iPhone without putting them on the internet. It's also for the friends they share those apps with, who need nothing but Ovenlight.

What it does

Recipe Box, a family recipe app, open full screen in Ovenlight: a search field, recipe categories, tonight's dinner and recently added recipes.

Your apps, full screen

Each app opens from a launcher that works like your Home Screen, and keeps its own storage on your iPhone, separate from the others.

A private connection, built in

Ovenlight reaches your computers over your own Tailscale network through a connection built into the app. Your iPhone needs no VPN and no Tailscale app.

Ovenlight locked: the wordmark under the lamp's glow, and an Unlock with Face ID button.

One unlock

Face ID or your passcode opens all your apps at once. While Ovenlight is locked, no app can use the camera or microphone.

Share one app, not your computer

A friend you invite can open that one app and reach none of your other devices.

What you need

An iPhone with iOS 18.1 or later.

To run your own apps, you also need a Mac with macOS 13 or later that stays on while you use them, a Tailscale account, and the Ovenlight connector on the Mac.

Support walks through the setup.
